Terms of Use

Please read these terms carefully before using our services.

Last updated: August 2024

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using the turquoise-root website and services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, please refrain from using our website and services.

2. Description of Services

turquoise-root operates as a travel agency providing travel planning, booking, and advisory services for domestic and international travel. We act as an intermediary between you and various travel service providers including airlines, hotels, tour operators, and transport companies.

We facilitate bookings on your behalf but do not directly provide transportation, accommodation, or other travel services. The actual services are provided by third-party suppliers who have their own terms and conditions.

3. Booking and Payment

3.1 Enquiries and Quotations

All quotations provided are subject to availability and may change based on market conditions, currency fluctuations, and supplier pricing. A quotation does not constitute a confirmed booking.

3.2 Booking Confirmation

A booking is only confirmed once we have received the required deposit or full payment and have issued a written confirmation. Verbal agreements do not constitute binding contracts.

3.3 Payment Terms

Payment terms vary depending on the type of travel service booked. Generally, a deposit is required at the time of booking, with the balance due no later than 8 weeks before departure. For bookings made within 8 weeks of departure, full payment is required immediately.

4. Cancellations and Amendments

4.1 Cancellation by Customer

Cancellation charges will apply depending on the timing of cancellation and the specific terms of the services booked. These charges are set by the relevant suppliers and will be communicated at the time of booking.

4.2 Cancellation by turquoise-root

In rare circumstances, we may need to cancel your booking. In such cases, you will be offered an alternative arrangement of equivalent or higher value, or a full refund of monies paid.

4.3 Amendments

Requests to amend bookings are subject to availability and may incur administrative fees. Changes to names, dates, or destinations may be treated as cancellations by some suppliers.

5. Travel Documentation

You are responsible for ensuring you hold valid passports, visas, and any other documentation required for your travel. We can provide guidance, but ultimate responsibility lies with you. Failure to obtain correct documentation is not grounds for refund or compensation.

6. Travel Insurance

We strongly recommend that all travellers obtain comprehensive travel insurance covering cancellation, medical expenses, personal liability, and baggage loss. Travel without adequate insurance is undertaken at your own risk.

7. Health and Safety

You should consult your GP or a travel health clinic regarding any vaccinations or health precautions recommended for your destination. We cannot be held responsible for any illness or injury arising from failure to obtain appropriate medical advice.

8. Liability

8.1 Our Liability

Our liability is limited to the services we directly provide as a travel agency. We are not liable for the acts or omissions of third-party suppliers, nor for events beyond our reasonable control including but not limited to natural disasters, civil unrest, strikes, or pandemics.

8.2 Supplier Liability

The liability of airlines, hotels, and other suppliers is governed by their own terms and conditions and by international conventions where applicable.
